Green Tara, the protectress, was born from the tears of Avalokitesvara, the Bodhisattva of compassion, as he saw the suffering on Earth. Filled with youthful vitality, she acts quickly to help those who call upon her to surmount their fears and anxieties. Hence, she is represented with the right leg always ready to step in and aid you in overcoming difficult situations. In the Buddhist tradition, Tara is actually much greater than a goddess — she is a female Buddha, an enlightened one was has attained the highest wisdom, capability and compassion. . . a being who can take human form and who remains in union with every living thing. A version of the Goddess Tara exists in virtually every culture.
Green Tara naturally became the symbol of the gallery as Karima came accross the Goddess on her first journey to Nepal.
